What the hell?
After several queries of the generator, it was time to move on: homophobe, homophobe spirit, evil homophobe spirit, benevolent homophobe spirit, etc.
Each time a query was presented, the pattern emerged: primarily white, primarily male, primarily non-humanistic.
Folks, there is a farm to run here, and money is a resource. Outreach is part of the farming operation and substack is a means to that end. Being a reader more so than a writer, visiting some of the many creators on the platform can help build the audience and hopefully lead to some income one day. But there is no escaping the World at large.
Algorithms will impose upon my homepage with suggestions, followers, etc., so sometimes curiosity will raise a biting impulse. OK. Just know that every color of the rainbow is represented, and the algorithm doesn’t care who we are or what our preferences might be; we can always block, mute or read. Some of those colors have very large audiences and a fierce following, especially ideological followings.
If we are truly open minded and fair, then all are welcomed and participation by all would perhaps lead to a more healthy world. Fair enough, so, we’ll bite. But when their world turns out to be filled with anxieties, my impulse is to reach out (outreach).
What the hell is a homophobe? All I see are people.
This comment was constructed for a prominent award-winning author and L(@XSOMETHINGOROTHER member with tens and thousands of followers, thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.
Now, prudence being the better part of valor, the comment was not posted from here, since there is a farm to run, and being outnumbered exponentially by an angry horde of whatever the fucks we don’t need it to be burned down.
That’s not the most disturbing part.
These same ideologies have infested every part of our world, not least of which is technology. Remember, AI is developed by people, who allow themselves to be taken in by things, not always helpful things, propaganda and indoctrination come to mind, which serve only a few with some agenda or other.
The images from this generator represent the way these people view their world. Want to see more?
If this is not terrifying enough, the moment villainizing white people was inferred, the generator started spitting different ethnocentric images, almost makes me think its watching. Clever.
Freedom of expression is freedom of expression, freedom from oppression. Homosexuality is an expression and should enjoy the same freedom as any other. Some of my neighbors were such, even friends of mine, some died during the Aids epidemic. They never forced their expressions on me, that would be against my will. We should take a dim view of any sort of behavior which aims to recruit us against our wills or turn us into something we’re not.
Homosexuality is a word and appears in my dictionaries, and like any other word has only the power we give it. Homophobe or any of its derivatives appears in none of my dictionaries, so it is a fairly new word. Hatred and violence are expressions also and we are at liberty to express those; that doesn’t mean we should be willing to tolerate it.
To name a thing is to make it so
This should come across as a clear example of how language can be turned against people in order to create chaos, in order to advance agendas, in order to manipulate and control.
It is also a clear example of the psychic warfare mentioned in the pages of The Spell. There are clear efforts to invent more, and more ominous spirits to roam the Earth for the sole purpose of disruption by those who seek to destroy cultures and their peoples.
We are seeing the results when those spirits take form and body and manifest what they are recruited to express.
While limited by the constraints of language it would seem prudent to at times, pare down and simplify. When people hate, they are haters, when people kill, they are killers. We don’t need new words to create new and more dangerous forms of the lunatic extremist. That spirit has roamed a very long time, wears many robes and is of our own invention.
But this is a farm, and outreach is part of the farming operation. There are better ways to express ourselves. This is what it looks like to express in a way that opposes the forces that seek to destroy.
This post was part of my experiment using Substack's AI image generator; after discovering the macabre form of bias present in the algorithm the decision was made to abandon it. The message none the less, is clear.
I like this one.
