Tommy Emmanuel is of course amazing, but what was really enjoyable was hearing you play and speak about performing. You're right and I think demonstrated it here -- that the personal element is where it's really at. Wish I played myself, would come back with my own piece, but sorry to say that I haven't learned a note or chord yet!
Those are kind words Ellen, thank you (we love applause).
I think I'll run this series a while. The immediate problem is technology, since a lot of folks are like me (just want to play) so overcoming the technical issues will be challenging, but I think it might improve if we get the right people. Might just start trolling some open mics myself to gather some heartful music (with permissions of course).
Have nephews who play (we're The Hepcats). One of them recorded much of what we did, and when it was played back many years later, I didn't know who it was.
But there was some great music in those recordings. There are a lot of good musicians who we never hear about.
Wow, doing a 5 minute solo is impressive, reminiscent to what Stevie Ray Vaughan would perform but with a Mississippi John Hurt style of playing. I’ll send something, but I do better with short solo’s. I tend to get sloppy as my fingers start to tire😊
Did a recording with some slide, thought I’d do something out of my comfort zone. No effects, unplugged using an Ibanez backpack guitar with Red Devil strings 09-42. Recorded direct over iPhone using a voice recorder app.

That sounds good. Would enjoy hearing more in that vein.

Not sure how impressive my playing is but wish the audio were better (working on it).
Just trying to get the party started.
First takes are fine.
